Let's say you promote a product from so-and-so company. They provide you with a website and give you a website address (link, URL) to promote. That link has the domain name of so-and-so company prominently displayed within it. Then they tell you to get traffic to your new, beautiful so-and-so company website and all will be fine.
Don't believe it!!! It doesn't work that way.
That "link" is what is called an "Affiliate Link". It is normally long. Hard for anyone to remember. Bet you can't even remember it. Believe it or not, no one is going to try to remember it. This is not what you want to happen.
You want people to remember how to get to your website. How in the world are you going to sale your product if no one remembers your domain name?
Okay, so what do you do? You go and get your own domain name. Simple. It really is.
When I first started promoting affiliate products on the internet I didn't know this. No one told me. I had to learn the hard way.
The main problems with using your affiliate link:
1. Too long to remember
2. People erase your affiliate ID
3. Search engines don't pick it up
These are problems that will kill your sales.
Go to any domain name registrar and get your own domain name. Think of something catchy and as short as possible that relates to your affiliate site subject. This might take some time but you will be pleased with the results.
Some things to look for when choosing a domain name registrar:
1. Inexpensive - you should not pay more that $12 to register a domain name.
2. Free email forwarding.
3. Free domain forwarding
4. Free domain masking
5. Automatic renewal.
6. Clean, non-cluttered site.
7. Ease of use.
8. Choice of extensions (such as .com, .net, .info, etc.)
You can do a search for domain name registrars. I have used Go-Daddy, Lowest Domain Rates and some others but I prefer Lowest Domain Rates because they meet all of my criteria. Now I only use Lowest Domain Rates and have for more than six years.
The end result of getting your own domain name will be: The problems listed above will be eliminated.
Oh! By the way, always try to use .com as your extension. It is the universal extension for domain names and is the most recognizable.

Are You A Dead Beat?
Now before you get insulted and click away hear me out. Then you can do what you want to.
Do you know, "Dead Beat", is what some internet marketers think about people that sign up for programs and never do anything? These are the nicest words they use to describe this type of person. The other words, well, they aren't worth repeating.
There are more people that sign up for every program they find on the internet and do nothing than those who sign up and at least try.
Then I must be a Dead Beat...
Why do you think people looking to fulfill their dreams do this?
First let me say that I don't consider anyone a "dead beat" just because they don't do what I think they should. My opinion is if someone does nothing then they must have a reason for doing nothing. I am not here to judge. I am here to help.
Back to why people sign up and do nothing:
1. They don't know what to do!
2. They are scared of change!
3. The program was not what they thought it was!
4. They find out that nothing is free!
5. They doubt themselves!
6. They have to work hard!
7. Their family and friends tell them they are crazy!
8. They feel too dumb to ask questions!
9. They feel as if they don't deserve more in life!
These are just a few of the reasons why people do nothing when signing up for a program. Bet that you could come up with some more excuses.
Do you see yourself in any of these?
Let me tell you, over the course of about ten+ years I have signed up for thousands of programs. Some in MLM. Some in affiliate marketing. Some in whatever sounded good. Some of them were probably good programs. But like other people, I did nothing! Does this make me a "Dead Beat"?
No more! I stopped that roller coaster several years ago because I finally wised up.
Yes, some wisdom finally crept into my brain. Well, it should have after all these years, don't you think? Now I am settled and know where I am going. My vision is real and I can see myself reaching it. I now know and understand internet marketing. I now know and realize more about myself and what I have to offer to others.
What can you do?
First, decide what you want. Ask yourself some questions and be honest with the answers. What is your vision? What do you want to accomplish? Do you want to stay right where you are right now? Do you need some extra income to just get by. Do you want more time with your family and friends?
What to do first: decide what your goals really are!
Goals are those things in our life that we want to accomplish. Goals should be broken down into categories: personal, spiritual, business, etc. Don't combine these. List them on separate pages. Yes, WRITE them down so you can see them. This makes your vision (goal) more real to you.
Then decide what steps you will take to reach your goals - baby steps. Don't go hog wild here. What are you going to accomplish today? What are you going to accomplish this week? What are you going to accomplish this month? This year?
Business goals should span from day one to 3-5 years. You read that right. Don't expect to accomplish your business goals today. This is impossible and self-defeating. Don't do that to yourself.
Now, get busy. Look around. Pick a program that fits you and that you can believe in - very important.
And, by all means, never consider yourself a "Dead Beat".
Just do something and stop playing around with your dreams.
Wishing you the best,
Elaine

Digging Yourself Out Of Debt
Most of us in our world today are in debt. The economy all over the world seems to be falling down around our feet. Everything we buy just keeps going up each time we visit the grocery store or gas station. Did you realize that the interest rates on your credit cards have almost doubled in the past few months? Every time we read the newspaper or watch the news we hear more and more depressing news about our economy.
Whether you are young or old, rich or poor, one of the most important actions that you can take is to rid yourself of debt. Get rid of that burden and set yourself free of that stress and anxiety. This is the one thing that will make your life easier to live through this time of uncertainty and turmoil.
The information that I am providing here will assist you in eliminating your debt. It will help you to get back your life. It will help you to get yourself free of that burden.
Being in debt is a burden that causes us to be in a stressful state all the time. It ruins marriages and friendships. It destroys our good health. It puts our bodies and minds in a state of "what do I do now"?
You have a choice: you can either decide to be a player in this recession or you can decide to not be a player. If you decide to be a player then your plans are to do nothing but just sit back and see what happens. Hoping for some miracle or some saving grace to come your way. To me, this is the worst mistake that you could make.
How about deciding to not be a player and take back your self-esteem, get rid of that stress, get rid of that anxiety, and position yourself in a powerful state of mind. Feel good about yourself and what you have accomplished.
Watch this video by Dale Calvert. He offers some great advice and a plan for getting out of debt:
I absolutely agree with Dale about his approach to getting out of debt. I plan to incorporate his idea into my own plans of getting out of debt. Watch this video as many times as it takes you to achieve the proper mind set.
As Dale states to get rid of your debt you have two choices:
1. Spend less
2. Make more
My choice is to do both. The following are some of the things I am doing and using to make more money so I can get rid of my credit card and loan debts:
1. Have a home business. (I have done this for many years and you would be surprised at the tax benefits.)
2. Select specific companies to market in order to increase my income.
3. Figure out where I can reduce my cost of living expenses.
