Do You Have Pet Peeves?

Oh! my, do I have some pet peeves when it comes to network marketers!!!!!!

The reason I decided to add this post is because of a phone call that I received last week from a friend of mine. Yes, I said friend. He called me to tell me that he had joined this company and would like for me to come to a meeting at his house. Of course I asked him what company and what does the company offer as far as services. I got no answer to my questions.

Red Flag!! Red Flag!! Irritation setting in...

I kept my cool and told him I would be at the meeting. I just wanted to support him - not join some company and I told him this.

Here are just some of my pet peeves when it comes to us network marketers:
1. Not telling the name of your company - good grief, are you that ashamed of it?

2. Not giving out at least a little information about your company - well, maybe you don't know either.

3. Calling me by using my contact information on my sites to plug your company - hello, are you that desperate and just want to waste you money?

4. Using my contact email to solicit me into you business - all this is going to do is get your email deleted just as fast as I can hit the delete button.

5. Free is not free if I have to give you my name and email address - your definition of free is certainly different from mine.

6. Calling yourself a Network Marketing Guru when all you are doing is copying from someone else - dead give-away that you know nothing. Do you think we are that stupid and have not been around far longer than you?

7. Commenting on forums or blogs with nothing more than words about yourself or your business - for sure will be deleted. Sometimes it is just better to keep your fingers off of your keyboard.

I am sure that I have more but will it at this.

Do you have pet peeves? Let me hear them by leaving me a comment. (I do monitor all comments before they are posted. He! He!

Have a great day and remember if these are some of my pet peeves I can promise you that am not alone.

How Often Do You Post On Your Blog?

I found this so interesting that I decided to share it with you just in case you are not a subscriber of Ty Tribble. Blogging has become an extremely important means of getting yourself known. Most of the top marketers and big companies use blogs to communicate with their audience and customers. This along with social network usage can increase your branding and thereby increase your relationships on the internet. Increasing your customer base.

Remember, we do business with people we get to know much more quickly and with more energy than with those we have never heard of. We marketers are a strange lot and are much more picky than the new person coming on the internet scene. Hopefully even the new want-to-be business owners will learn from us and become more inquisitive instead of jumping at everything they see.

By following a better scheduled plan of blogging (and, I am also talking to myself) we can improve our chances of succeeding and also help those new folks.

Let me know what your thoughts are about this by leaving me a comment.

Blessings to you...

Are You Making This Plunder?

Entice! Give a little information. Move on... Recruiting is not difficult unless you make it so.

I just finished watching a new video by Dale Calvert and I have to say that it brought smiles and a little laughter to me. Watch the video and then I will explain.

Now that you have watched the video I will tell you why it was funny to me: I use to do this all the time when trying to recruit people into my business. The whole truth and nothing but the truth according to how I saw it. This is not the way to do it.

First off, I have learned with frustration to not approach my family and friends. Give it time. When those close to you see how well you are doing, they will approach you.

Second, if someone ask me what I do I give then a short version: I have a home base business. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!

If they want to know more I give them a website to go look at for them self and if after looking and studying the site they want to know more, well, then fine, I will answer any questions that I can.

Remember this, your business website can tell a much better, clearer story than you can. When trying to explain your business you become so excited, so pumped up and start rambling on and on. You are to close to your business to be able to be objective when explaining it.

This approach just may save you some heartache and pain. Why not try it?

Do You Own A Domain Name?

Let's say you promote a product from so-and-so company. They provide you with a website and give you a website address (link, URL) to promote. That link has the domain name of so-and-so company prominently displayed within it. Then they tell you to get traffic to your new, beautiful so-and-so company website and all will be fine.

Don't believe it!!! It doesn't work that way.

That "link" is what is called an "Affiliate Link". It is normally long. Hard for anyone to remember. Bet you can't even remember it. Believe it or not, no one is going to try to remember it. This is not what you want to happen.

You want people to remember how to get to your website. How in the world are you going to sale your product if no one remembers your domain name?

Okay, so what do you do? You go and get your own domain name. Simple. It really is.

When I first started promoting affiliate products on the internet I didn't know this. No one told me. I had to learn the hard way.

The main problems with using your affiliate link:
1. Too long to remember
2. People erase your affiliate ID
3. Search engines don't pick it up
These are problems that will kill your sales.

Go to any domain name registrar and get your own domain name. Think of something catchy and as short as possible that relates to your affiliate site subject. This might take some time but you will be pleased with the results.

Some things to look for when choosing a domain name registrar:
1. Inexpensive - you should not pay more that $12 to register a domain name.
2. Free email forwarding.
3. Free domain forwarding
4. Free domain masking
5. Automatic renewal.
6. Clean, non-cluttered site.
7. Ease of use.
8. Choice of extensions (such as .com, .net, .info, etc.)

You can do a search for domain name registrars. I have used Go-Daddy, Lowest Domain Rates and some others but I prefer Lowest Domain Rates because they meet all of my criteria. Now I only use Lowest Domain Rates and have for more than six years.

The end result of getting your own domain name will be: The problems listed above will be eliminated.

Oh! By the way, always try to use .com as your extension. It is the universal extension for domain names and is the most recognizable.

Are You A Dead Beat?

Now before you get insulted and click away hear me out. Then you can do what you want to.

Do you know, "Dead Beat", is what some internet marketers think about people that sign up for programs and never do anything? These are the nicest words they use to describe this type of person. The other words, well, they aren't worth repeating.

There are more people that sign up for every program they find on the internet and do nothing than those who sign up and at least try.

Then I must be a Dead Beat...

Why do you think people looking to fulfill their dreams do this?

First let me say that I don't consider anyone a "dead beat" just because they don't do what I think they should. My opinion is if someone does nothing then they must have a reason for doing nothing. I am not here to judge. I am here to help.

Back to why people sign up and do nothing:
1. They don't know what to do!
2. They are scared of change!
3. The program was not what they thought it was!
4. They find out that nothing is free!
5. They doubt themselves!
6. They have to work hard!
7. Their family and friends tell them they are crazy!
8. They feel too dumb to ask questions!
9. They feel as if they don't deserve more in life!

These are just a few of the reasons why people do nothing when signing up for a program. Bet that you could come up with some more excuses.

Do you see yourself in any of these?

Let me tell you, over the course of about ten+ years I have signed up for thousands of programs. Some in MLM. Some in affiliate marketing. Some in whatever sounded good. Some of them were probably good programs. But like other people, I did nothing! Does this make me a "Dead Beat"?

No more! I stopped that roller coaster several years ago because I finally wised up.

Yes, some wisdom finally crept into my brain. Well, it should have after all these years, don't you think? Now I am settled and know where I am going. My vision is real and I can see myself reaching it. I now know and understand internet marketing. I now know and realize more about myself and what I have to offer to others.

What can you do?

First, decide what you want. Ask yourself some questions and be honest with the answers. What is your vision? What do you want to accomplish? Do you want to stay right where you are right now? Do you need some extra income to just get by. Do you want more time with your family and friends?

What to do first: decide what your goals really are!

Goals are those things in our life that we want to accomplish. Goals should be broken down into categories: personal, spiritual, business, etc. Don't combine these. List them on separate pages. Yes, WRITE them down so you can see them. This makes your vision (goal) more real to you.

Then decide what steps you will take to reach your goals - baby steps. Don't go hog wild here. What are you going to accomplish today? What are you going to accomplish this week? What are you going to accomplish this month? This year?

Business goals should span from day one to 3-5 years. You read that right. Don't expect to accomplish your business goals today. This is impossible and self-defeating. Don't do that to yourself.

Now, get busy. Look around. Pick a program that fits you and that you can believe in - very important.

And, by all means, never consider yourself a "Dead Beat".

Just do something and stop playing around with your dreams.

Wishing you the best,
Elaine
