Are You Making This Plunder?

Entice! Give a little information. Move on... Recruiting is not difficult unless you make it so.

I just finished watching a new video by Dale Calvert and I have to say that it brought smiles and a little laughter to me. Watch the video and then I will explain.

Now that you have watched the video I will tell you why it was funny to me: I use to do this all the time when trying to recruit people into my business. The whole truth and nothing but the truth according to how I saw it. This is not the way to do it.

First off, I have learned with frustration to not approach my family and friends. Give it time. When those close to you see how well you are doing, they will approach you.

Second, if someone ask me what I do I give then a short version: I have a home base business. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!

If they want to know more I give them a website to go look at for them self and if after looking and studying the site they want to know more, well, then fine, I will answer any questions that I can.

Remember this, your business website can tell a much better, clearer story than you can. When trying to explain your business you become so excited, so pumped up and start rambling on and on. You are to close to your business to be able to be objective when explaining it.

This approach just may save you some heartache and pain. Why not try it?

  1. Elaine..great post! With time and practice comes the posture required when communicating with your prospects. It's probably the #1 thing other than writing good copy that people struggle with when recruiting. Self Confidence. Anyone can gather leads, it's what to do with them once you have them!

I like your sensible approach and advice to others telling them to have people check out your website and if they have questions to contact you.

It alleviates some pressure on you and if they DO contact you after they see your website
then you know you have a warm lead and a receptive audience.

To add to Elaine's great post here...always remember this..some will, some won't..so what? NEXT! :) Thank you for sharing this!
