Who Is Visiting Your Page On Facebook?

I am doing something a little different today. Normally I write my own post in my own words but today I received a newsletter that I thought we all needed to pay attention too.

Most of us use Facebook. We all have Profile pages and some of us have what Facebook calls Pages - like Fan Page. Unlike the Profile page the Fan Page is normally used for business or a specific interest. This article speaks to anyone using Facebook.

Yes, we might like to know who is visiting our Profile or Fan Page but this article will give you some insight as to what not to do.

"Who is checking you out on Facebook?

How many of you have a Facebook page?

Ever wonder who might be checking your Facebook profile?

Well, hundreds of other folk have the same question and that is exactly why scammers
have created phony sites offering to show you who is looking at your profile.

But beware - many of these are simply phishing sites attempting to gain your personal
information which can be used for a variety of nefarious reasons.

If you make the mistake of clicking on the link to one of these phoney pages offering to
tell you who is viewing your Facebook profile, you will find that the people behind
the "services" want you to do a few things first.

The Sophos(*) Company's Senior Technology Consultant - Graham Cluley - has
posted images of some of these phishing sites and some professional advice on
how to avoid scams like these.

Here's the link to that post, and if you have a Facebook account, it's more than
worth the few minutes it will take you to check it out. (this not an affiliate link)"

Take heed when clicking on ads or whatever on any social site. Be sure to have good virus and anti-phishing software on your computer. Safe surfing, searching, and clicking.

  1. Elaine,

    Great article!

I am one of those people who have always wanted to know who is visiting my FB page but don't know who to trust and your post has helped me determine what are phishing sites. Crazy that we have to be so careful when surfing or you can give all your info to someone who you don't want to have it. Thanks for your post. Keep em coming!

    All the best,

    Terry

  2. Terry, I am like you, I would like to know who is visiting my profile and my fan page. I have seen those ads stating that they can tell you who is visiting. Thankfully I have never clicked one of them. Even if I had I probably would not have continued. I am very funny about giving out my info on FB, especially in some of the apps that are on there.
Take care and many blessings to you.
