Essence of Your Being

Have you ever read a sentence in a book, ebook or some publication and you just had to read it over and over again? That happened to me today.

I started reading an ebook today, "How To Attain Your Desires" By Letting Your Subconscious Mind Work For You, by Genevieve Behrend. I received this ebook from Joe Vitale. Having quickly past through the legal stuff and listing of the contents I came to  the Introduction. I got hung up within the second paragraph.

Before I even got past the introduction I was stuck. Now what I am about to write here may not have the same affect on you but I bet my supper that it will have you thinking. As it did me. To keep from being bombarded with statements from a legal team, I will paraphrase the sentence that made me stop and do some brain evaluations.

You need to focus on the essence of something that you really want. Not on the appearance of something. This make not seem to be such a remarkable statement at first glance. So, take another look. Look up the two italicized words and see if you don't change your way of thinking.

Most of us focus our sights on a picture of what we want, where we want to go and what we want to accomplish. I have heard this so many times. Place that picture in front of you in places where you will see it several times a day. That is appearance. To me at least.

Maybe I have an incorrect definition of these words in my brain storage area so I decided to look up both words in my trusty dictionary. Interesting what I discovered.

Appearance: "the act, action, or process of appearing; a sense impression or aspect of a thing." That certainly doesn't come out to be a picture. It more resembles how we perceive something to look like. How we conceive something.

Essence: "the permanent as contrasted with the accidental element of a being; ... real, or ultimate nature of a thing..."

Essence is real. It actually exist. Appearance is what our mind things something looks like. It is a thinking process that can change as we change our minds. We can't change the essence of something by changing our mind set because the very make-up of something doesn't change.

Now, why did I get so hung up on this and decide to write this post?

Placing pictures of something you want in many places in your home, car, business, all over, is okay, but do these really help you to accomplish what you want? Or, do they just re-enforce your dream with no real essence to back them up?

You and I both have to understand this concept in order to move and pursue what we truly want to be in our lives. The power of essence resigns within you. That is where all of your dreams, hopes and desires live. They are real.

The old, tried and true, steadfast saying, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he" is the key to your essence. So, take that key and unleash your power over whatever obstacles that confront or may confront you. You and only YOU can make your life what you want it to be.
